SA 520 – Analytical Procedures are Evaluations of financial information through analysis of plausible relationships among both financial and non-financial data.
Excel and Forensic models like Beneish Model can be used to perform Analytical Procedures.
Analytical Procedures are about relationships and are required at the Initial Stage, during the audit, and end of the audit
Analytical Procedures are also required for risk Assessment as specified in SA 315.
This video discusses how Excel can be used for such Analytical review i.e Trend Analysis and Ratio Analysis.
