This tutorial for Excel shows you how to change column headings into number from letters. This is actually called the R1C1 reference style but can also be used for help when writing macros and for when you just need to know the number for columns in Excel. For example, when writing macros in excel and using the Cells property, you need to know the number of the columns which you are trying to reference and this method will allow you to quickly do that while at the same time not fundamentally changing your spreadsheet. This is a good quick tip for people working in macros as well as those more comfortable with columns as numbers.
