How to Remove Time from Date Timestamp In Excel || Excel Tips & Tricks || dptutorials

In this tutorial let us see How to Remove Time from Date/Timestamp in Excel

When you extract dumps from some tools, you will be getting dates with the time format as well. But if you wish to have the date without any time, you need to watch this video now.

Let me take an example like this where I have dates along with time in column A

I will show you three ways of removing the time from the dates.

First one, copy the data from column A and paste in column B. Select cells in which you want to remove the time

Right-click and select “format cells”, in the Number tab, In the left pane, click on the Date option.

In the options on the right, select the format in which you want the date to be displayed, I am using the location as the US and selecting this date format.

Click OK.
By this method, you can hide the time from the timestamp and you can see only the date now.

2nd Method:
Using the INT formula
Type formula in cell C6 as = INT(A6). This formula returns only the integer part and removes the decimal part. since the time value is 0, it shows 12:00 AM for all the cells.

Now, Right-click the cells in column C and format and change it to Date format to only show the date and not the time.

3rd Method:
This is using the Datevalue formula
Type formula in cell D6 as = =DATEVALUE(TEXT(A6,”dd-mmm-yy”))

Now, You will see the result as a number – which is the numeric value for the date, change the format of the result to a date format.

So like this, you can remove or hide the timestamp from the date value.
